Recruiting for the Impact Champions for International Development program
Through a collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), PYXERA Global is proud to offer the Impact Champions program. Engage your employees in the two upcoming virtual teams. Contact PYXERA Global for more information.
We wanted to share some exciting news! PYXERA Global will be offering two virtual, multi-company Global Pro Bono opportunities in 2021 through a collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Impact Champions for International Development program will bring together top talent from a diverse group of private sector companies to align their employees’ passion and purpose with a strategic opportunity to make social impact from anywhere they have a digital device.
Participants will work in virtual teams of 4-5 participants for 12-weeks where they will apply their business, technology, and operational skills to support selected Power Africa partner organizations in East Africa to build capacity and enhance operational performance. By introducing new perspectives as well as improved and updated business practices, the teams will have a transformative impact on microgrid and energy access for rural populations in East Africa.
USAID’s support means that companies of all sizes can participate in this type of global program; the cost to participate is $1,000 per person, which includes pre-program preparation and support throughout the 12-week engagement. Attached is a one-page information sheet with more information about the program or checkout the program FAQs at pyxeraglobal.org/impact-champions. If you have any questions, please reach out to PYXERA Global at ImpactChampions@PYXERAGlobal.org.
The timeline for the two virtual teams in 2021 are:
Spring cohort: April 19 - July 9, 2021
(pre-work starts week of March 29)
Fall cohort: August 30 – November 19
(pre-work starts the week of August 9)
The commitment deadline for the Spring cohort is March 1, with participant finalization by March 10. For the Fall cohort, the commitment deadline is July 1 with participant finalization by July 15.
During the 12-week assignment, participants will need to contribute 5-8 hours of business time per week towards the agreed-upon project scope and defined goal. They are required to attend team meetings including, but not limited to, a team-building meeting and orientation session during the pre-program phase, a launch event with partner organizations, weekly team meetings, and a close-out event at the end of the assignment, which includes presentations and a debriefing.
We highly suggest that participants meet the following criteria, in addition to having two or more of the skillsets listed below:
- Two-year tenure with your company
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience
- Be in high standing, ideally with potential for leadership.
The skillsets we are looking for participants to have are the following:
