Account Settings

How do I create an account profile?

Help others on CECE get to know you by completing your profile! This is your opportunity to tell us about yourself and showcase your expertise and interests.

Once you have signed-in, your first step should be to complete your profile, which will enable your peers to connect with you more easily. To access your profile, click on the image on the top-right corner of the page and select "edit profile” or click here.

Fill out the different fields in that page to the best of your ability and come back and update it at any time. To add a profile photo, click on the person icon again and 'Account settings', then 'Avatar' to browse and upload a .jpg profile photo. Choose an image that is larger than 400×400 pixels and save changes.

How do I update my notification preferences?

You’ll get regular notifications from CECE but you are always welcome to enable or disable these emails.

To access your notification preferences, click on the image on the top-right corner of the page and select "account settings” or click here. Scroll down the page until you see Notification Preferences on the left and a box labeled “Change Notification Preferences.” Click on that box and you’ll be directed to a page listing all of the notifications that you can enable or disable.

 

Free Trial

How can I cancel the free trial?

Although we’ll be sad to see you go, just send us an email at cece@pointsoflight.org and we’ll suspend your free trial. If you want to cancel your free trial because you want to pay for a membership, there’s no need to take any action.

What content is available on the Community for Employee Civic Engagement?

What will you find on CECE? The best of the best, of course! On the homepage, you'll find four "channels" of information:

  • Welcome to the Community for Employee Civic Engagement: Find out more about CECE, our expert partners and how to navigate the site by reading through these posts.
  • Sector News: Here's where you'll find recent news articles and stories of positive social impact.
  • Essential Reading: This channel is chock full of curated resources that we think anyone responsible for engaging their fellow employees in the community should read.
  • Events: Look through our monthly lists of social impact events as well as a few featured events over the coming year. 

Below those channels, you'll find "rooms" where conversations can take place. Pose a question to an expert or to a peer by clicking the green 'Start a conversation' button in each of the rooms. You can also reply to these conversations with your own thoughts and opinions.

In the left-hand navigation menu, you'll find a robust 'Resource Center' where content is categorized by themes relevant to building or enhancing your corporate citizenship strategy. As more resources get added, we'll be adding new channels within the Resource Center.

How do I become a contributor?

We’re thrilled that you’d like to contribute your insights, research or resources to the Community! Just send us an email to cece@pointsoflight.org along with your ideas and/or links to any proposed content. We’re looking for informative, uplifting content that will support our audience – professionals responsible for engaging their fellow employees in communities. If you have tools, templates, or frameworks to share, promising practices, or opportunities to collaborate, we’d be interested in promoting them. Drop us a line anytime!

Why can’t I access some content on the site?

Some of the content on CECE is labeled “Premium Content.” To be able to access it, please register for your free 14-day trial.

Where do I find the corporate citizenship resources? All I see is the “Essential Reading” channel on the home page.

Great question! CECE contains a robust resource center accessible by clicking on the “hamburger” menu icon on the top left-hand corner of the home page. Click on that icon and a drop-down menu will be displayed. Click on “Resource Center” and then search through the categories displayed to find the content you’re searching for. As more resources get added, we'll be adding new channels within the Resource Center.

How do I search the Community?

The search toolbar at the top of the homepage allows you to search by keywords. If no results are displayed, please delete what you have typed and you will then be shown custom fields on the left-hand side of the page. These allow you to filter users by group, area of expertise, etc.

All pieces of content are tagged with a colorful 'Badge.' You can also pull up all content tagged with that keyword by clicking on the Badge itself.

How can I share my opinions and thoughts with other CECE members?

The easiest ways to connect with your community: commenting, liking and following.

These three simple functions allow you to engage with the CECE community through its content items, allowing you to add your views and show your appreciation.    

Commenting and liking content are the quickest and easiest ways to contribute your expertise, opinion and questions to CECE. Engaging with content allows you to show related expertise, add relevant additional content, support or (politely) argue against a point, share feedback and thanks for the contribution and encourage discussion.

You can comment on all the content you see on CECE. To begin, click the 'Comment' button towards the top of any post, video or document. This will take you to the comments section where you will see any current comments and / or a space in which to enter a new comment.

Following allows you to stay up to date with particular users by ensuring you receive a notification whenever they publish content. Following is not a requirement to see their content - all registered members can access all content on the site.  


Paid Memberships

How many additional log-ins can I receive?

For companies purchasing an annual or monthly membership, we offer an additional 100 log-ins.

Who are they intended for?

These additional log-ins are intended for your fellow community affairs/corporate foundation teammates and your employee volunteer leaders/champions or committee leads. Whomever might benefit from the information found on CECE!

How do I submit my additional users?

Once you become a member, we’ll reach out to you to request the names and email addresses for your additional log-ins. You’ll submit that information to us, and we’ll invite them to join CECE!

How do I cancel my membership?

Parting is such sweet sorrow! But, we understand that you may need to cancel your membership. You are welcome to email us at cece@pointsoflight.org or complete our cancellation request online. We’ll process your cancellation within two business days and send you confirmation once completed.
